Shadowplay

To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you
I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you
In a room without window in the corner, I found truth

In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more
As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor
And with cold steel, odour on their bodies made a move to connect
But I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left

I did everything, everything I wanted to
I let them use you for their own ends
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you

Summer, Summer, Summer

So today is officially the first day of summer and what did I do? Wrote an exam and went to work. Such a waste of a gorgeous day. But enough of the negativity. I might be going to the beach on Monday for the first beach vibe of the summer. Surf Sand and Sunsets. I am now on a little holiday until next Friday, so I'm gonna fill it with awesomeness.

Let's Go Surfing - The Drums
Wake up
It's a beautiful morning
Honey, while the sun is still shining
Wake up
Would you like to go with me?
Honey, take a run down to the beach

Oh, mama
I wanna go surfing
Oh, mama
I don't care about nothing

Wake up
There's a new kid in the town
Honey, he's moving into the big house
Remember
When I was so very hopeless
Darling, he's gonna make it all better

Oh, mama
I wanna go surfing
Oh, mama
I don't care about nothing

Down, down baby
Down by the rollercoaster
Sweet, sweet baby
I'll never let you go (X 4)

Oh, mama
I wanna go surfing
Oh, mama
I don't care about nothing

Oh, mama
I wanna go surfing
Oh, mama
I don't care about nothing

(I know this song isn't exactly ''new'', but I'm gonna be playing it non-stop through the summah)

Hope everyone had a wonderful summer day!

Cheers, Karen

Warning

Warning: If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think every thing you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned

30 Seconds to Mars

Sunday, 21 November was pretty awesome. Had a completely chill day at home and then went to the 30 Seconds To Mars concert. It was pretty spectacular. I know, they're not the best band in the world, but you gotta give them props for trying. They have such an energy on stage that is difficult not to love. I quite enjoyed the mini acoustic set that Jared did in the general standing area. Let's face Jared Leto IS 30stm.

Since I had to take photos with a shitty LG camera phone, I unfortunately don't have very great pictures, but nevertheless I will upload them by the end of the week.

Cheers for now
Love, Karen x

You and me babe, how 'bout it?

A love-struck Romeo sings the streets a serenade
Laying everybody low with a love song that he made.
Finds a streetlight, steps out of the shade
Says something like, "You and me babe, how about it?"

Juliet says, "Hey, it's Romeo, you nearly gave me a heart attack!"
He's underneath the window, she's singing, "Hey la, my boyfriend's back.
You shouldn't come around here singing up to people like that...
Anyway, what you gonna do about it?"

Juliet, the dice was loaded from the start
And I bet when you exploded into my heart
And I forget I forget the movie song.
When you gonna realize it was just that the time was wrong, Juliet?

Come up on different streets, they're both the streets of shame.
Both dirty, both mean, yes, in the dream it was just the same
And I dreamed your dream for you and now your dream is real.
How can you look at me as if I was just another one of your deals?

When you can fall for chains of silver,
You can fall for chains of gold,
You can fall for pretty strangers
And the promises they hold.
You promised me everything, you promised me thick and thin, yeah!
Now you just say, "Oh Romeo? Yeah, you know I used to have a scene with him".

Juliet, when we made love, you used to cry.
You said, "I love you like the stars above, I'll love you 'til I die".
There's a place for us, you know the movie song.
When you gonna realize it was just that the time was wrong, Juliet?

I can't do the talk, like the talk on TV
And I can't do a love song, like the way it's meant to be.
I can't do everything, but I'll do anything for you.
I can't do anything, 'cept be in love with you!
And all I do is miss you and the way we used to be.
All I do is keep the beat... and bad company.
Now all I do is kiss you through the bars of a rhyme,
Juliet, I'd do the stars with you any time!

Juliet, when we made love you used to cry.
You said, "I love you like the stars above, I'll love you 'til I die".
There's a place for us, you know the movie song.
When you gonna realize it was just that the time was wrong, Juliet?

And a love-struck Romeo sings a street-suss serenade
Laying everybody low with a lovesong that he made
Finds a convenient streetlight, steps out of the shade
He says something like, "You and me babe, how about it?"

You and me babe, how about it?

The Most Amazing Show

Wednesday was the opening night for Corne and Twakkie's The Most Amazing Show. From dancing to rapping and singing to relaxation exercises, you can pretty much expect anything from these boys. Members of the unsuspecting audience were just as much a part of the show as they were watching it. Unfortunate members of the audience were ridiculed pretty much as far as you could take it. If you're brave enough you should definitely try to get a front row seat or an aisle seat. If you're up for a laugh you should definitely make sure to catch these okes live. T.M.A.S. is running from 16 November - 4 December and will have you out of your heads and out of your shoes before the end of the show. Book over at Computicket. Tickets are not expensive, and even if they were, it's well worth the few extra bucks.

"Believe it, because it's true"

PS. You better do what they tell you, cos you DO NOT want to feel the wrath of Corne's "Learning Tool" AKA the Moerstick
